Dry Needling

Targeted Muscle Release

What Is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a skilled intervention that uses thin, sterile needles to target tight bands of muscle and myofascial trigger points. Unlike acupuncture, which follows traditional Chinese medicine meridians, dry needling is rooted in Western musculoskeletal and neurophysiological principles. The goal is to reduce pain, improve range of motion, and restore normal muscle function.

When a trigger point is needled, the muscle often responds with a brief local twitch response. This helps release deep tension that hands-on techniques alone may not fully reach. Many patients notice improved mobility and reduced soreness within the same session or shortly after.

Who Can Benefit?

What to Expect

Sessions begin with a movement and palpation assessment to identify the areas driving your symptoms. Needles are placed precisely into the affected tissue for a short period. You may feel a mild ache, pressure, or brief twitch. Most people tolerate it well. Mild soreness for 24-48 hours afterward is normal, similar to an intense workout.

At The Spine Studio, dry needling is integrated with chiropractic care, myofascial release, and functional rehab so relief is built into lasting movement patterns, not just a temporary fix.
